Kalbenalm
The quaint little hut at the foot of the Sechszeiger
The Kalbenalm is located at 2,117 meters and can be reached from the Hochzeiger middle station in 30 minutes on foot via the Zirbensteig trail or via the mountain station of the Sechszeiger double chairlift. In earlier times, the small hut was used by shepherds and herdsmen as a place to sleep when they were out and about with their young cattle. Today, the rustic hut is popular with hikers and nature lovers.
The Schrott family pampers guests at the Kalbenalm with homemade cakes and coffee, Swiss stone pine schnapps and much more. At the Kalbenalm, you can also admire a variety of Swiss stone pine carvings by Klaus Schrott, who not only looks after the young cattle, but is also dedicated to the rare Swiss stone pine.
